How to create an appealing Author Page
Biography
Your biography will help you establish credibility, provide insight into who you are, and introduce readers to your other works.
What to include in your bio:
- Opening: Begin with a concise summary of yourself and highlight your latest release.
- Expertise: discuss what you write about, what your area of interest or expertise is and indicate if you have published multiple books.
- Credentials: List your qualifications, such as degrees, awards, bestseller status, and accolades.
- Book titles: mention some of your other published work.
- Personal Touch: Add a personal element, like your location, lifestyle description, or writing style.
- Links: Include links to your website and/or professional social media profiles.
Guidelines:
Your bio should range from 100 to 400 words.
Write in the third person.
Keep your bio updated regularly.
Photos
Customize your Author Page with a high-definition color headshot of yourself. Additionally, you can upload more images, such as you with your book or at events, to enhance your author brand.
Videos
Enhance your Author Page by uploading relevant videos. Videos can showcase your expertise, upcoming projects, and personal insights. You can add up to eight videos, each less than ten minutes long.
Blog
Blogs can be very beneficial to showcase your expertise, share upcoming projects, and offer personal anecdotes. This contributes to your credibility and strengthens your connection with readers.
On your Amazon Author Page, you can access the “Blog” section where you can add your blog. If you have an existing blog, you will have the option to link it to your Amazon Author Page.
